Recipe: Beef Bone Broth

Bone broth is all the rage. Make your own at home with our favorite recipe.

Beef Bone Broth

Servings 4

Ingredients
  

  • 4 lbs marrow / knuckle bones
  • 2 lbs meaty bones
  • 1/2 c apple cider vinegar raw, with the mother
  • 1 gallon good water
  • 3 ribs celery roughly chopped
  • 3 carrots roughly chopped
  • 3 onion quartered
  • handful parsley fresh
  • 2 tsp sea salt Celtic Sea Salt or Redmond Real Salt

Instructions
 

  • Put bones in a 6 quart stock pot.
  • Add the vinegar and water and let sit for 1 hour so the minerals can leach from the bones.
  • Make sure the bones are completely submerged in the water. If not, add more.
  • Add the vegetables and bring to a boil.
  • Scrape off any scum that forms on top.
  • Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook 24-72 hours.
  • At the end, toss in the parsley.
  • Let it cool and strain.
  • Enjoy in soups or for sipping on its own.
